FAQ

Q: What is a fraternity?

A: A fraternity at face value is typically a greek letter organization who have a set of shared values and a common purpose. Once you join you will find out it is so much more. Fraternities are places of personal growth, intellectual stimulation, constant challenges to become a better person and develop a sense of responsibility not only for yourself but for your brothers as well.

Q: What is it exactly that you DO in a fraternity?

A: A fraternity is a way for college-aged males to surround themselves with positive peer-pressure. We participate in a wide range of activities that focus on high scholastic achievement, extending a helping hand to our community, growing and maturing as leaders, and extending our network of friends. These activities specifically range from study hour programs, to philanthropy events, to being top leaders in campus organizations, and social events such as Homecoming and Greek Week. We reinforce our ideals with rituals that teach our new members the values we strive to honor and uphold.

Q: What is expected of me if I join Theta Chi?

A: The official motto of Theta Chi is “Θηρόποσα Χείρ” which translates as “An Assisting Hand.” You will be expected to be a dependable gentleman that upholds our ideals of truth, temperance, and tolerance. You should also expect from us that we will lend our helping hand to you in a time of need as well.

Q: How do I pick a fraternity? Why should I choose Theta Chi?

A: There are many things to consider when deciding on which fraternities to rush:

What can you contribute? What will you benefit from membership in this fraternity?
Time commitment: Can you be an active participant in fraternity events and meetings?
Their GPA and what is expected of you academically
